Sinmat's primary sustainable competitive advantage centers on its ability to leverage materials/ semiconductor processing expertise and strategic alliances and joint partnerships to develop value-generating solutions for the semiconductor industry. This sustainable competitive advantage is supported by five company strengths:

  • Electronic Materials and Nanotechnology Expertise: Sinmat's personnel are recognized world leaders in the fields of electronic materials and materials-based nanotechnologies (such as semiconductor planarization & front end processing).
  • Innovation: The Sinmat team has consistently shown the ability to develop revolutionary solutions to the challenges confronting the semiconductor industry.
  • Intellectual Property: Sinmat holds a clear title for the patents and filings it has obtained for each of its innovations. Sinmat has already obtained/ filed 6 patents (or patent licenses).
  • Strong Industrial Network: Sinmat has cultivated relationships with key firms within the semiconductor industries and is actively exploring partnerships and strategic alliances. These alliances extend in all aspects ranging from R&D support, investors, manufacturing complementors and IC companies.
  • Strong University Interaction and Infrastructure: Sinmat works closely with the University of Florida (UF) and its nationally ranked materials science and engineering department. UF is a minority shareholder in Sinmat. Sinmat also has strong interactions with the University of Texas (Austin) which has one of the most sophisticated microelectronic R&D capabilities.

 


Sinmat's initial goal is to work with end-users and complementors to rapidly commercialize its technology. Currently, Sinmat is working in partnership with several companies who are involved in the semiconductor manufacturing sector. The strategy of the company is to develop and deliver materials used for CMP and other semiconductor applications. The company is involved in delivering value added technology solutions for both front and back end semiconductor processes.
